This hilarious book combines (slightly altered) well known scientific facts with extremely accurate anecdotes that all parents can relate to.

I recommend this book, with its quirky stories and cute graphics to all parents, grandparents and caregivers; I guarantee it’ll make you chuckle.

This guide to DC comics is perfect. I started getting into graphic novels and comics a few years ago, but it is so hard to know where to look.

At least for all new readers this is a perfect start, as for more experienced, I can’t say but I’m sure it would be appreciated.

Review: Skip School, Fly to Space: A Pearls Before Swine Collection

Skip School, Fly to Space: A Pearls Before Swine Collection
Skip School, Fly to Space: A Pearls Before Swine Collection by Stephan Pastis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an adorable comic book and the illustrations were super cute. A little rude at some points, but I did enjoy each character’s quirks.

Although, as a mother I don’t think anyone under 13-14 should be reading this. The humour in this comic is a little too difficult for younger children.

I was never the biggest Donald Duck and gang fan, but my three year old son LOVES watching ‘old school’ Donald, Scrooge and the three troublesome nephews.

I only read one of the many comics found within this book to him, but he loved it and he will be requesting the rest for sure.

We will be looking out for more Uncle Scrooge to add to our collection.

Review: The Stand: Captain Trips

The Stand: Captain Trips
The Stand: Captain Trips by Stephen King

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I’m not the biggest Stephen King fan — although it’s mainly only because I couldn’t get into his books when I was younger and have never picked one up and tried again.

For this graphic novel, I figured that if I didn’t like it, it was short enough to not make a huge difference.

I did like it, apocalyptic stories are some of my favorites.

The graphic novel is well done and makes the jumping around of the story (between characters) a little easier, but i still want to read.
